Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has suggested Marcus Rashford could be out for a little while, but he’s hopeful both Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial will be back to face Arsenal.

Rashford picked up an injury against West Ham United on Sunday, forcing Manchester United into playing Jesse Lingard up front. After the game, head coach Solskjaer admitted the striker will probably be out for a while, which they’ll confirm with a scan.

“He felt his groin. We’ll do a scan tomorrow to see how badly he’s injured,” Solskjaer said. “I don’t know how long he’ll be out, I’m not a doctor. But he’ll probably be out for a little while.”

Realistically, there’s little chance the England international will be back by next Monday, when Arsenal face Manchester United. However, Solskjaer suggested he’s hopeful that both Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood will be back for that game.

“Hopefully Mason and Anthony will be back for the Arsenal game and at least one of them for Rochdale,” Solskjaer added.

If we’re being honest with ourselves, there’s a 100% chance Greenwood is going to pull a Rashford and score his first Premier League goals against Arsenal. That’s just how this works.

Martial has two goals and one assist in eight games (five starts) for United against Arsenal, which is a decent record – if not particularly scary. The forward did also get one assist in the 3-1 victory for Monaco at the Emirates Stadium, though he didn’t score in either leg.
