With Arsenal fans feeling like they can’t trust either David Luiz or Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis doing his best to make those two feel like he’s one of them, Holding’s return can’t come quickly enough.

When Unai Emery first arrived and the 23-year-old was playing regularly Arsenal actually looked like they had something of a clue at the back. Now, not so much.

According to a Daily M*ail exclusive, the centreback is ready to go on Thursday night.

Holding hasn’t played since he injured his knee in December but has appeared for the u23s a couple of times this season without suffering any sort of setback.

It’s a miracle.

It’s not clear yet if he’s ready to start but he is said to be ‘hopeful’ of playing some part in the game.

Sportsmail also writes that “Emery has not offered Holding any guarantees about his position in the central defensive pecking order.”

Given we went 16-games unbeaten before he was injured, you’d need to be a mug not to make him a first-choice defender considering what we’re currently working with.

Over to you, Unai…
