The Daily Mirror are today claiming that Arsenal and Unai Emery are ready to ship Mesut Ozil out on loan in January and will even subsidise his wages to shift him on.
On the face of it, this all seems to make sense.
Unai Emery clearly doesn’t like Mesut Ozil and would like him to be somewhere else. Ozil has repeatedly said he’s happy in London and has no desire to go anywhere.
The Mirror claim that, despite being elected as one of the club’s five captains last week, Arsenal would rather ship Ozil out on loan than keep him around to be a bit-part player.
There is, of course, another option. Unai Emery could quit being a dick and actually use one of the most talented players at his disposal instead of treating him like a piece of sh*t.
As I said above, this all makes sense but my main concern around this story is that it has been written by John Cross who has a pretty poor record when it comes to breaking decent stories.
This one was in no other major paper this morning, yet he hadn’t marked his tale as an ‘EXCLUSIVE’ which makes me wonder where, exactly, he got his information from.
Here are some other John Cross gems:

I guess even a stopped clock is right twice a day, so who knows. This certainly wouldn’t be the most unexpected move should it happen in January.
