Brazilian outlet UOL report that two clubs made advances for the left-winger over the summer, PSG through Leonardo Araujo and Arsenal via Edu Gaspar. Both attempted transfers were immediately blocked by Florentino Perez and Real Madrid.

19-year-old Vinicius Junior has been a regular in the Real Madrid team since joining last summer. He’s made 39 appearances (23 starts), scoring seven goals and assisting a further 13.

The winger experiencing a bit of a downturn in form at the moment, but he has the chance to pick himself up with his national team after a call-up for Brazil, one of the fan favourites for UK betting.

Realistically, it’s difficult to imagine Arsenal convincing Real to sell at this stage. Vinicius has a contract all the way to 2025, and he’s only 19 years old playing in possibly the biggest club in the world.

There’s very little certainty around the Gunners’ left-wing spot at the moment.

Reiss Nelson, Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe are all options, in addition to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang playing out of position, but no one player has really nailed it down yet.

After the big-money sale of Alex Iwobi this summer, it’s not out of the question for Arsenal to look to make a new signing on that side, it just seems very unlikely that will be Vinicius. An older, more experienced signing would make more sense and probably be more achievable too.
