Bramall moved on from Arsenal to join Colchester United this summer, dropping down a few leagues in the process.

The obvious upside of such a move was the opportunity for more regular game time, but things quickly went south as the left-back received a straight red card in just his third appearance for the side.

That incident saw Bramall suspended for three games, then dropped for a further four, before finally returning against Swindon Town on Tuesday.

The former Gunner came back with a bang, starring in Colchester’s win. Bramall assisted the opening goal, as well as making three clearances, two interceptions, two tackles and winning three of his four individual duels.

WhoScored named him in their Team of the Week as a result:

It’s unlikely Bramall will have won over the fans and coaches at Colchester in just one game, but he’s definitely back on the right track. His team next face 20th-placed Leyton Orient on Saturday, so there’s another opportunity to impress.
