Arsene Wenger always joked that one day he would write a book and it seems like he wasn’t just teasing – he’s actually working on it.

Speaking to Beinsports, Arsene Wenger confirmed that he was indeed writing his autobiography. However, he’s doing so in French to ensure there are no problems with conveying his thoughts accurately.

Any of us who are hopeful it will lift the lid on his time at Arsenal might be waiting in vain. While I’ve no doubt he will reveal some juicy gossip, I believe Wenger to be a man of honour and some stories will seem to him like they should not be told.

I also don’t see him starting to apportion blame for what happened at Arsenal during his final years even though it’s clear Ivan Gazidis deserves to get a lot of what fell on Wenger’s shoulders.

When he was at Arsenal, Wenger was happy to take criticism for things that we all knew were not his responsibility. I’d love him to hang Gazidis out to dry as the useless snivelrat he seems to have been, scurrying off at the first chance for more money despite agitating for Wenger’s removal for years so he could secure more power.

Sorry, got distracted. Yes, Wenger’s book. I’m sure it won’t take long until it is translated to English, hopefully not by The S*n or the Daily Mail because, well, we all know what they’re like with anything foreign.

That being said, Wenger always said he would only publish this fabled book once he had retired and as he said recently he’s looking to get back in the game, we could all be waiting a while yet for it to hit the shelves.
