Arsenal posted an update on the club website this week, confirming the deal with Global Kapital Group. The partnership will see first-team players taking part in promotional activities as well as providing rewards and experiences to customers.

The deal is reportedly worth around £2m a year, so it isn’t one of the biggest partnerships the club have. It’s still a good boost to the finances though, at a fifth of the reported size of the sleeve sponsorship deal with Rwanda.

At the end of last season, we reported on the fact Arsenal’s list of sponsors on the club website had dropped from 29 to 20. This is now back up to 23, and it’s up to Vinai Venkatesham and the team to keep adding new partnerships throughout the season.

The Gunners certainly need strong commercial income to protect against the possibility of the financial dip caused by yet another season without Champions League football.

There are no guarantees Arsenal will make it back into the top four this season, and they’re already set to be spending money on instalment payments for the likes of Lucas Torrreira, Nicolas Pepe and William Saliba before we even look at new signings.
