Ahead of Arsenal’s game against Watford on Sunday, Arsenal surprised everyone by admitting that Lacazette had been carrying an injury since the start of the season and would need to take some time out to get back to his best.

An update on Arsenal.com, read, “Left ankle. After assessments to an ongoing ankle issue, we have advised that Alex will need to rest and strengthen his ankle to regain full fitness. Alex has been playing through this injury for several weeks. He is likely to be back in action in October.”

Shortly after that was released, the Frenchman took to Twitter to say, “Already started my rehab and looking to the future.. Thanks everyone for your messages !! #Coyg #Laca”

The news came on the same day Arsenal announced that both Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierny had joined Rob Holding in full first team training.
