Arsenal u23s scored an excellent team goal to spark a comeback away to Derby on Friday, and fans on Twitter enjoyed watching it back afterwards.

With Arsenal trailing 2-0 after a performance that lacked any real edge, they introduced star striker Folarin Balogun from the bench to try and find that spark in the final third.

It was Balogun who ended up assisting Arsenal’s first goal, but he was just one small part of a lovely team effort.

Emile Smith Rowe picked up the ball on the right-hand side, found Mazeed Ogungbo at left-back, who played it inside to Robbie Burton. Burton turned nicely before playing a one-two with Tyreece John-Jules, then another one with Balogun.

The midfielder then finished from the edge of the box into the corner with a first-time shot. Arsenal completed the late comeback through a Balogun goal for 2-2.

It’s fair to say Arsenal fans on Twitter definitely enjoyed the first goal, with many comparing it to Arsene Wenger’s football at its best.

It’s always nice to see goals you can get excited about from the youth team, especially as some of these players may well have a part to play in the senior side this season.

Burton and John-Jules already joined the first team for the pre-season tour, and Balogun’s fantastic form combined with Eddie Nketiah’s loan might see him promoted for the cup/Europa League games. Smith Rowe will obviously feature for the senior side too if he can stay fit.

For now, it’s just positive to see them all doing well for the u23s.
