Arsenal released Stephan Lichtsteiner this summer after signing him from Juventus on a free transfer just the season before. An exciting arrival on paper and a player who brought new levels of sh*thousery to the club, his performances largely underwhelmed as it was clear he was no longer able for the Premier League and had left it too late to come to England.

Asked how his experience was at the club, he replied, “It was the experience I wanted. For a very short time we didn’t reach the fourth place and at the last act we lost the Europa League final with Chelsea.

“Unfortunately, we did not reach our goals and it is still difficult to digest today. The last two months, we made too many mistakes and the mistakes, in a difficult championship like the Premier, [you] always pay [for] them.”

In total, Lichtsteiner made 23 appearances for Arsenal, scoring one and assisting another. He played under 1,000 minutes across 14 games in the Premier League averaging 1.57 points per game with another six games in the Europa League, one in the FA Cup and two in the EFL Cup.

Lichtsteiner is still without a club after leaving Arsenal.
