Eddie Nketiah scored again for Leeds United on Tuesday in the League Cup, but despite inspiring a comeback for 2-2, his loan side exited the competition on penalties.

Nketiah started against Stoke on Tuesday, and he was undoubtedly Leeds’ star man on the night. The 20-year-old scored one, hit the woodwork with an excellent long-range effort, and his all-around stats were impressive.

Leeds had to come back from 2-0 down after a poor first half, and it was Nketiah who sparked the comeback with their first goal, pouncing on a mistake. The cup tie went to penalties, and Nketiah scored his, but Jack Harrison missed the crucial spot-kick and gave Stoke the win.

Here’s Nketiah’s goal from the match:

The goal was Nketiah’s third for the Leeds first team, despite his limited minutes so far. The Arsenal loanee first netted on his debut against Salford City in the last round of the League Cup.

The striker then scored on his debut in the Championship as well, coming off the bench for a goal against Brentford.

After missing out on one of Leeds’ games against Wigan, Nketiah temporarily dropped down for an u23 match against Millwall a week ago on Monday. He also scored in that fixture, giving him three goals in four senior appearances and one in one u23 appearance.

A great start overall for Nketiah, and one he just needs to keep going now.
