The Arsenal u23s kick off their Premier League 2 season with a match against Blackburn Rovers tonight, with Folarin Balogun hoping to keep his free-scoring form going.

Balogun signed his first professional contract with Arsenal in February, and he hasn’t stopped scoring ever since. In 18 competitive youth games in 2019, the striker’s scored 19 goals, as well as another six in pre-season with the u23s.

Those six pre-season goals came in Balogun’s last three games, so he’s in red hot form going into the new campaign. Here are 21 of his 25 goals from the year so far (the remaining four didn’t have any good public footage available).

Balogun didn’t start any games for the u23s last season, sticking with the u18s to see them through to lift the u18 Premier League south division title. As a result, it’s up to him to keep proving he’s comfortable in the older age groups.

If Balogun keeps scoring more goals than his games played, he’s sure to get first-team opportunities this season, particularly with Eddie Nketiah going on loan. The striker certainly has the ability, so it’s time for him to make his mark.
