An update on former Gunner Stephy Mavididi’s potential transfer to Benevento is expected imminently, according to reports in Italy.
According to Tuttosport (via Juvenews), Juventus and Benevento are working to finalise the final details of Mavididi’s transfer, with a particular focus on the percentage of any future resale Juventus will receive.
TMW claim major updates are expected very soon, writing that ‘the white smoke could arrive’ today to signify that the deal is done.
The two clubs are reportedly ready to finalise the purchase of the forward for a fee of €1m. They’ve been locked in talks over the sell-on clause, as Juventus want a massive 50% of Mavididi’s next transfer fee.
Benevento already have an agreement with Mavididi though, so if they can agree these final details then it should be a straightforward operation from then on.
Mavididi left Arsenal for Juventus last August and went on to score seven goals and assist one in 34 matches for their u23 side. He earned call-ups to the first team towards the end of the campaign, making his senior debut against SPAL in April.
The forward previously spent time on loan with Charlton and Preston North End in England, but injuries and lack of minutes prevented him from making a name for himself in his home country.
Now 21 years old, a move to Serie B might get him the regular senior game time he’s been waiting for.
