Unai Emery has admitted that Nacho Monreal could leave Arsenal before the window closes with the Spaniard reportedly close to agreeing a return to Real Sociedad on a two-year contract.

It seems like an odd move to sell Nacho Monreal, leaving you only one fit left-back because your new shiny right-back is still out following a summer operation and isn’t expected back until October.

Still, that seems what Arsenal are about to do.

Speaking after Arsenal’s defeat at the hands of Liverpool, where Nacho started and played the full 90 again, Unai Emery made his admission.

Arsenal will now turn to Sead Kolasinac to fill in, hope nothing happens to him and that Kieran Tierney returns when expected despite already suffering a few setbacks in his recovery.

The European transfer window closes on Monday, 2 September.
