Tottenham will welcome Dele Alli into their matchday squad for the game against Arsenal this weekend with the 23-year-old still yet to play for Spurs this season.
Dele Alli was in the stands as Tottenham lost to Newcastle at the weekend but is set to come back into the squad after recovering from a hamstring injury he picked up over the summer. He rejoined first-team training last week.
I’m not surprised. There is some sort of law at Tottenham that states all injured players will be fit for Arsenal games, no matter what.
Christian Eriksen is also likely to be available for selection. Although the Dane is refusing to sign a new contract and has been holding out for a move to Barcelona or Real Madrid, neither of the Spanish giants have made a move ahead of the window closing on Monday.
Of course, things can and often do change quickly in the final hours of any window, but it seems likely that Eriksen, at the very least, will still be a Tottenham player when they cross London on Sunday. Hopefully, Pochettino continues to mismanage the situation and keeps him on the bench.
That being said, although Eriksen if clearly one of the most dangerous Tottenham players, he has scored exactly zero goals against Arsenal and provided just one assist in 14 matches.
We often hear Spurs fans compare him to Ozil, who could return to the Arsenal squad this weekend. The German, who is frequently criticised for his performances in big six games, has one goal and four assists in 10 games against our north London rivals.
