Tanguy Ndombele, the French midfielder who became Tottenham Hotspur’s club-record signing over the summer, appears to be out of the North London derby with injury.

Ndombele picked up a thigh injury in training after the draw with Manchester City, forcing him to miss the 1-0 defeat to Newcastle at the weekend. Since then, Football.London report the midfielder hasn’t been training with the main group at Spurs.

The 22-year-old was ‘limping’ at a fan event on Tuesday, and he’s been left out of France’s squad for the upcoming European Championship qualifiers next month.

In normal circumstances, all of this would suggest there’s no chance of the player featuring in Spurs’ next match. Football.London write that he looks set to return after the international break.

Tottenham always play injury mind games ahead of the North London derby though, so it’s just as probable he’ll suddenly be fit by Sunday.

Whether Ndombele’s in the team or not, Arsenal will fancy their chances against a Spurs side that haven’t looked very impressive so far this season.
