Spanish journalist Kike Marin has suggested that Real Sociedad could look to complete the signing of Nacho Monreal in the coming weeks, after letting Raul Navas go on loan to Osasuna.

Marin has been reporting interest from Sociedad all summer, writing in June that although Arsenal are counting on the left-back for the new season, they’d consider selling for a good offer. Monreal has a contract until 2020 as things stand.

The journalist now reports that the loan of Sociedad defender Raul Navas to Osasuna could mean the La Liga side step up their interest and close a deal for the Arsenal man. The only obstacle is figuring out exactly how much the North London side are asking for.

With Kieran Tierney joining the club, Arsenal certainly have more options at left-back. Though the Scotland international is currently out with injury, Sead Kolasinac is also available again after his off-field problems.

Nonetheless, the fact that Tierney is unlikely to return before October perhaps means Arsenal won’t be willing to let Monreal go this month. Even if it’s just for September, the risk of going through an entire month with just one left-back is a bit much.
