Granit Xhaka and Mesut Özil have both returned to full training ahead of Arsenal’s match against Liverpool on Saturday.

Arsenal released an update on the club website on Thursday morning, detailing this week’s progress of the squad’s various injury sufferers.

After missing out on the win over Burnley thanks to an illness earlier in the week, Özil has been back in full training for the last few days. Similarly, Xhaka missed the Burnley game with a knock, but he’s back too.

Rob Holding is fast approaching a recovery, and he’s expected to play the full 90 against Everton u23s on Friday.

Arsenal say they expect Emile Smith Rowe to be in full training by the end of August, but the 19-year-old already appears to be taking part in first-team training sessions again.

The midfielder scored an excellent goal for the u23s in a 65-minute appearance last Friday, and Arsenal are likely just being cautious with his comeback timetable to avoid getting hopes up just for the player to suffer another recurrence of the problem.

As for Hector Bellerin, Kieran Tierney and Dinos Mavropanos, the trio are expected back in full training in October. The good news is that none of them seem to have had any setbacks since our last update.
