Galatasaray have reportedly offered Mohamed Elneny £25kpw to join them before the transfer window closes next week but the Arsenal man currently earns £50k in London.

That’s the thing with Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, they always want all the players but can rarely afford any of them. Sadly, they seem to be the only two clubs interested in signing Mohamed Elneny, despite the Gunners actively trying to sell the midfielder.

Milliyet in Turkey report that Gala offered him reduced wages and, unsurprisingly, the player was not that interested. They also add that reports from the British press claim Arsenal ‘did not want to continue’ discussions with Galatasaray, most likely because the Turkish side have told Raul Sanllehi they can’t afford the few pennies Arsenal are asking for him.

Speaking in a press conference on Thursday, Unai Emery admitted that Elneny and Mustafi know that the plan this summer is to move them on.

Responding to the comments, Elneny’s father Nasser told Egyptian media that it won’t be a straightforward decision to leave, and he’s not being forced out, but the midfielder does want to play for a team that will give him more regular minutes.

“Mohamed is still under contract with Arsenal for the next three years and he plays in a big team, so the decision to leave will not be easy and no one has imposed anything on him,” Nasser Elneny told Al-Ain Sports.

“The manager has a respectful view and has the right to make his choices, but my son is a regular in training and does his job well. Mohamed is looking for a chance to move to a suitable team with more game time.

“I don’t like the idea of moving to Turkey or France. If he leaves Arsenal I hope he won’t be out of the Premier League,” Nasser said.

Neither of the Turkish sides are likely to be able to construct an offer that appeals to Arsenal or the player but the club, if they are determined to move Elneny out during this window, may well subsidise a loan.

There have also been some reports that Bordeaux are interested in such a deal although given how little they were willing to pay for Laurent Koscielny, it’s no wonder these negotiations are already ‘bogged down’.
