Former Arsenal youngster, Ignasi Miquel, has signed for Girona on loan for the season from Getafe.
The central defender, who is now 26, left Arsenal in 2014 when we sold him to Norwich for £1.71m. He had arrived at Arsenal in 2008 for £1.13m from Cornella Youth but was unable to make a consistent breakthrough into the first team.
In total, he played 57 times for the Arsenal u23s and 14 times for the Arsenal first team.
Since leaving Arsenal, Miquel has been at Norwich, Ponferradina (free transfer), CD Lugo (free transfer), Málaga CF (£450k), and Getafe, who paid Malaga £4.5m -10 times what they paid for the defender just eight months before.
At Getafe, however, despite commanding such a large fee in comparison to all his other moves, Miquel made just 10 appearances and now finds himself in La Liga 2 with Girona on loan for the season.
While at Arsenal, he was sent on loan to Leicester where he played 12 times and scored once.
In total, he has signed for 10 clubs if you also count Barcelona’s u17 team where he played before moving to Cornella Youth.
