The game between the USA and the Republic of Ireland was set up as part of the USA’s victory tour of the country following their World Cup success in France this summer and they got things off to a winning start with a 3-0 victory.

Goals from Tobin Heath (16′), Lindsey Horan (31′) and Carli Lloyd (41′) sealed the win over the Irish.

McCabe played the full 90 but Quinn was subbed off in the 89th minute after a solid display. A quick check around this morning and it doesn’t appear as if the 29-year-old defender was injured.

“It’s 3-0 and no one likes to lose, but I think you have to put it in context,” said the Ireland interim manager, Tom O’Connor, after the game. “We’re playing against the world champions in their home match, on their victory tour. Overall, I’m very, very pleased with the performance and the way the girls played tonight,” said O’Connor.
