Alexis Sanchez will become an Inter Milan player before the European transfer window closes on Tuesday but due to the obscene amount of money United offered him to lure him away from Arsenal, they will still have to pay £16.5m of his £21m annual salary according to the Daily Mail.

The Guardian report the Italians will pay £175,000 towards his weekly wage which equates to £9.1m.

There is also no obligation for the Italians to buy Alexis.

United had been reportedly prepared to offer Inter a £20m clause to buy the player at the end of the season but if that has been included, it is not as an obligation.

Since swapping shirts with Henrikh Mkhitaryan, the Chilean has scored just five goals in 45 games/18 months and the price United were reportedly asking highlights just how low his stock has fallen.

For the record, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who hasn’t had the best time at Arsenal since his move in the opposite direction, has played 58 games to Alexis’s 45, scoring 9 and assisting 13 to Alexis’s 5/9.
