Gabriel Martinelli’s family posted a video on social media of their celebrations after the Arsenal debutant scored his first goal against Colorado Rapids.
On Monday night – or Tuesday morning in the UK – Arsenal played their first pre-season friendly, and gave their first start to new signing Gabriel Martinelli.
The Brazilian impressed with his work rate and link-up play, but he also missed an early chance to give Arsenal the lead. Fortunately, when a second opportunity fell his way, he made sure to make it count, chesting the ball into the net inventively.
Martinelli’s family were watching on TV, and they posted their reactions on Instagram after the game:

It’s great to see them enjoying the moment, as they must have given a lot already to help the youngster develop through the youth system in Brazil up to senior football with Ituano and now Arsenal.
With any luck, there’ll be plenty more goals to celebrate in the future. The winger is making a strong case for further inclusions with the senior side, so he’s sure to get chances.
