Eddie Nketiah has made a brilliant start to pre-season with Arsenal, and he’s starting to make a case for more regular first-team opportunities this campaign.

Nketiah started against Colorado Rapids on Tuesday, playing 77 minutes and providing an assist for Bukayo Saka. Then, on Thursday, he came off the bench for the final 10 minutes to score Arsenal’s winner.

The striker created plenty of chances for himself throughout the overall 87 minutes between the two appearances, and his link-up play and forward runs into the channels helped the team to two victories in their opening two games.

Here’s a compilation video of his performances in the two matches:

Nketiah struggled for opportunities in the Arsenal first team last season, playing just 62 Premier League minutes and a total of 269 minutes across all other competitions.

Another season like that is sure to stunt his development, but if he keeps outperforming the club’s senior strikers in pre-season he may find himself getting more opportunities this time around.

Nketiah will be hoping to make another positive impression against Fiorentina on Saturday.
