Arsenal look to have won the race to sign William Saliba, beating out a late bid from Spurs.

The player, who will cost €25m plus €5m in bonuses will remain with his current club for next season, joining up with Arsenal for the 20/21 campaign when he will be 19.

Until now, we had not heard from anyone in an official capacity but now we can be pretty certain William Saliba will become an Arsenal player.

“Everything is on track with Arsenal,” Bernard Caïazzo told Le Progrès. “William will make the season with us.”

Le Progrès believe that the move could be formalised as early as next week when Arsenal return from the States.

Two days ago, RMC journalist, Mohamed Bouhafsi, reported that Arsenal had agreed a €29m fee for the player that also included bonuses.

It has been reported that Spurs actually made a larger offer for the player but Saliba preferred to join Arsenal over that lot.

Obviously.

I mean, you would, wouldn’t you?
