The Premier League has lifted the FFP wage restrictions that caused Arsenal so much trouble after they smashed up their wage structure for the craic.
Ever since Arsenal abandoned their wage structure they’ve been caused the kind of problems Arsene Wenger advised about should they ever abandon their wage structure.
Funny that, huh?
We now have a number of highly-paid, but underperforming stars who are impossible to shift because nobody else will pay the sort of stupid money Arsenal threw at their feet.
It has been widely reported that Arsenal only have £40m to spend (plus whatever they can make from player sales) and we already know that Aaron Ramsey’s wage demands were a large part of the reason the club withdrew his contract offer.
Now, however, the Premier League have lifted the cap that was originally brought in to stop clubs spunking all their TV money on wages.

The Short Team Cost Control was brought in in 2013 but will cease to apply after midnight on Monday.

If you don’t mind, I’ll just be crying over there in the corner…
