Ceballos was officially announced as an Arsenal player on Thursday, joining the club on a season-long loan deal from Real Madrid.

The Spaniard had been on holiday up until the transfer, having played in the u21 European Championship earlier in the summer. However, he’s quickly got to work in individual training sessions at London Colney, as pictured below:

Arsenal‘s announcement of the signing, they wrote that Ceballos ‘will be available to make his debut at the Emirates Cup this Sunday’. Given he’s just returning from holiday, that will likely be from the bench, but it’s still a first chance to get a look at him.

Meanwhile, Unai Emery hinted at the possibility of a debut as well, telling the club website: “Young players will be doing possibly their best performance and taking more minutes with us (at the Emirates Cup), plus any new players we have signed.”

Ceballos is a versatile midfielder who can play multiple roles in the centre of the pitch. He’s capable of playing as a no. 8, a no. 6 or even a no. 10, so it’s just a case of figuring out which other midfielders he would be best partnered with.
