Malcom’s agent has informed FC Barcelona that his client wants to leave in search of minutes, and they’ve requested a transfer.
Spanish outlet COPE report that Barcelona-based journalist Helena Condis has informed them Malcom’s agent has told Barcelona that he wants to leave this summer. The two parties held a meeting on Tuesday to try and understand the position of the player.
Barcelona haven’t received any offers just yet, but the player’s representatives are indicating there is interest in a loan move from Arsenal.
The La Liga club aren’t keen on a loan move as things stand. They might change their minds if they manage to complete the signing of Neymar, but for the time being, they value Malcom at €60m for a permanent transfer, €20m more than they bought him for.
Arsenal clearly wouldn’t go anywhere near a €60m transfer for a player who only barely reached 1,000 minutes this season, considering the club’s entire summer budget is rumoured to be less than that to start with.
If Barcelona do decide to consider a loan, maybe something could happen. Right now, this deal appears to be in the very early stages.
