According to L’Equipe, Nicolas Pepe will have his Arsenal medical on Tuesday afternoon.
Arsenal are expected to complete their £72m move for Nicolas Pepe this week with L’Equipe reporting that the 24-year-old will undergo his medical at the club on Tuesday afternoon.
If that goes well, they write, he will become an Arsenal player after the final financial details were worked out on Monday evening.
Arsenal will pay £20m up front and the remaining £52m over the next five years.
Lille, in turn, will pay 15% of Pepe’s fee to his former club, SCO Angers – the side Arsenal face in their penultimate pre-season friendly on Wednesday night. They sold Pepe in 2017 for just €10m (£9m) and will now receive another £10.8m.
It’s hard to see things being completed in time for him to take part in the match against his former side, but with a showpiece game at the Nou Camp this weekend, we could well see Arsenal’s most expensive player make his debut in the famous red and white.
