The FA have released the group list for the League Cup and Arsenal have been placed in the Group B. There will be a group stage as usual followed by a knock-out stage.

It is a well-balanced group with three FA WSL and three FA WC sides, unlike the other three groups that see a 1-5, 4-1 and 4-2 split. You really do wonder why and how the FA manages to create so many uneven groups from a 12/11 original line-up.

Group games will be played in the following fixture windows:
  • 21/22 September
  • 19/20 October
  • 2/3 November
  • 20/21 November
  • 11/12 December

Arsenal will have a very busy season playing in four competitions and trying to win them all. A very tough task – that the 2006/07 squad managed to do unbeaten.

The League fixture list is here.

The Women’s Champions League dates are as follows:

Round of 32: 11/12 & 25/26 September 2019
Round of 16: 16/17 & 30/31 October 2019
Quarter-finals: 24/25 March & 1/2 April 2020
Semi-finals: 25/26 April & 2/3 May 2020
Final (Viola Park, Vienna): 24 May 2020

The FA Women’s Cup dates are as follows, as we enter the competition in the fourth round proper.

Fourth Round Proper Sunday 26 January 2020

Fifth Round Proper Sunday 16 February 2020

Quarter Final Sunday 15 March 2020

Semi-Final Sunday 19 April 2020

Final Saturday 9 May 2020

I think it’s quite clear that the extra number of games will take their toll on the squad, and the fact that we added a few players during the summer transfer window will certainly help.
