Arsenal announced the loan signing of Ceballos for the 2019/20 on Thursday, handing him the number eight shirt for the campaign.

The 22-year-old made 34 appearances for Real Madrid last season, but he struggled to get consistent starts and seemed to be out of favour with manager Zinedine Zidane. After an impressive u21 European Championship showing, Arsenal convinced him to further his development in North London.

The player had other options though, notably to join local rivals Tottenham Hotspur. He admitted to Arsenal that Hector Bellerin helped him make up his mind.

“I get on really well with Hector away from football, on a personal level,” Ceballos said. “I told him I was thinking of joining and he told me not to think twice because this is a great city and a great club and that I was going to have a great time.

“I can’t wait to see him and say thanks for his help in getting me here.”

It’s not exactly news that Bellerin is a fantastic ambassador for Arsenal Football Club. He’s consistently committed his long-term future to the club, he gives his all every time he steps on to the pitch, and off it he conducts himself with class.

Thanks in part to the Arsenal right-back, Ceballos will now prepare to help the Gunners back into the Premier League’s top four this campaign. He’s already getting involved in pre-season and he’s available to feature in the Emirates Cup this weekend.
