For anyone attending the game in the USA, it kicks off on Wednesday at 8pm. However, for those watching on from the UK, it’s on Thursday morning at 4am.

The match will be televised on Premier Sports, a paid channel showing all of the club’s pre-season games. Let’s have a look at the players who have travelled on tour with the club.

Travelling Squad List

  • Goalkeepers: Bernd Leno, Emi Martinez, Matt Macey
  • Defenders: Carl Jenkinson, Calum Chambers, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Shkodran Mustafi, Zech Medley, Nacho Monreal, Sead Kolasinac, Dominic Thompson
  • Midfielders: Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Joe Willock, Granit Xhaka, Robbie Burton, James Olayinka, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Mesut Özil
  • Wingers/Forwards: Reiss Nelson, Emile Smith Rowe, Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, Eddie Nketiah, Tyreece John-Jules

Rob Holding, Hector Bellerin, Konstantinos Mavropanos have all travelled, but they aren’t expected to be fit to play just yet.

Predicted Lineup (4-2-3-1)

Leno; Maitland-Niles, Mustafi, Sokratis, Monreal; Xhaka, Willock; Nelson, Özil, Mkhitaryan; Aubameyang.

We’re assuming Unai Emery will stick with the same formation that worked well against Colorado Rapids, though it’s always possible he might try something new in pre-season.

The head coach suggested in his post-Colorado press conference that Sokratis, Xhaka, Mkhitaryan and Nelson would all get a chance, so those four are all pretty much nailed-on to start. That does mean dropping one of Özil, Aubameyang or Lacazette though.

We’re predicting he’ll leave out one of the strikers at first, before bringing them in for the second half. It’s always possible Özil might drop to the bench so Lacazette can play the role Tyreece John-Jules played against Colorado though.

Thankfully, there were no injuries in the opening pre-season match, so at least there won’t be any enforced changes.
