Arsenal’s move for Kieran Tierney is still alive, despite reports to the contrary in the last day or so.

Various reports coming out of Scotland suggested Arsenal had completely pulled out of a move for Tierney this week, after deciding not to submit a third bid for the left-back.

As we pointed out at the time, the reliable sources on the story were yet to speak up, with the story instead being led by the likes of the Daily Mail.

Sky Sports and Goal now report that those rumours were false. Sky claim Arsenal haven’t given up on a deal, and talks are progressing towards a deal structure that would suit all parties.

Goal also add that discussions are ongoing, with a third bid yet to be submitted. Arsenal are reluctant to bend to Celtic’s demands that the majority of their £25m valuation is paid upfront, but there’s still hope of an agreement.

It’s very possible the reports of the deal being off were just a negotiating tactic from one side or another. It appears Arsenal are still keen to bring in a left-back, so it would be strange to give up on talks with two weeks left in the window.
