This was the second of three friendlies planned in Slovakia for the Arsenal u18s and u23s this week. After the u23s fell to defeat against Sparta Prague on Friday, the u18s had a chance to make amends with their game against SK Slovan Bratislava u19s.

Although technically it was an u18 side, there were a number of players from the younger age groups stepping up for the match.

Zane Monlouis made his u18 debut, Taylor Foran and Charlie Patino both played 45 minutes, Marcelo Flores played 30, Malcolm Ebiowei and Nathan Butler-Oyedeji both featured in the match as well. Nonetheless, Arsenal came out 3-1 winners.

Sam Greenwood, one of the more experienced players in the team, got a goal and an assist, whilst Luke Plange and Levi Laing were the other two scorers.

Plange and Laing only recently made the step up as first-year scholars for 2019/20, so it’s great to see them both scoring.

Next up, Arsenal u23s will play Slavia Prague on Thursday. It’ll be their third and final match in the National Training Center Poprad before they depart from Slovakia.
