The Arsenal u23 and u18 sides joined forces to take on Boreham Wood over the weekend, drawing 3-3 in front of a packed Meadow Park.

The next academy friendly in England isn’t until July 24th, against Barnet. As a result, they now have a couple of weeks to spare, and they’re using that time to go on a European tour.

The academy sides will first travel to Slovakia on Thursday, before moving on to Germany next week. At this stage, there’s no word on the sides they’ll face whilst on tour.

There have been a couple of call-ups from the younger age divisions for the trip.

U16 star Taylor Foran, who captained a 7s side to victory in their Singapore tournament earlier this year, will join the squad. Mexican youth international Marcelo Flores will also travel. We spoke to Marcelo about settling in at Arsenal earlier this year.

The new first-year scholars should also be involved, including new signings Catalin Cirjan and Jason Sraha.

We’ll try to bring you updates from the tour as we get them.
