Wilfried Zaha has reportedly told Crystal Palace he wants to join Arsenal, his childhood club.
Arsenal have been linked with Wilfried Zaha since before he moved to Manchester United in 2013 for £10.58m.
Now worth around £40m, Palace want £80m for him which is an amount they won’t get from Arsenal.
The Daily Mail report in an exclusive that he “has told Crystal Palace he wants to join Arsenal this summer and urged them to reach an agreement with the club he supported as a boy.”
However, they also report that “Palace have struck a deal worth more than £50million with Manchester United for Aaron Wan-Bissaka and are determined that only one of their academy graduates will be allowed to leave.”
The player is not prepared to accept that, according to the report, but he might have to unless Arsenal can find a way to get Palace to drop their demands.
Arsenal could offer players in exchange for Zaha to drive is price down, but even then they’re still going to have to find a large chunk of change as well.
Under contract until 2023, the 26-year-old scored 10 and assisted 10 in the Premier League last season.
