Dalian Yifang winger Yannick Carrasco has admitted his future only depends on his club’s president now, as Arsenal grow confident of securing his signature.

Carrasco is certainly making no secret of the fact he wants to return to Europe this summer.

Speaking after his substitute appearance for Belgium in their win over Scotland, the winger admitted the only thing holding him back is his club’s agreement to sell.

“Everyone knows that I want to go back to Europe,” Carrasco said. “Now it depends on my president and I hope he finds a solution. I can not talk about the (identity of the) club.

“I hope [everything will be resolved]. Now I’m not the one who chooses, but my president. He decides if he lets me go or not, but I hope I can come back.”

The Mirror report that Arsenal are increasingly confident of completing the summer transfer, though negotiations are still ongoing as to the exact nature of the deal.

At this point, it’s not clear whether it would be a loan with an option to buy, Dalian’s preferred £26m fee, a transfer paid in instalments, or a transfer at a lower fee with higher potential bonuses.

Christian Falk of Sport Bild reported earlier in the week that Arsenal are ‘very far’ in negotiations for Carrasco, but the Belgian is also Bayern’s Plan B if they fail to land Manchester City’s Leroy Sane.

With the Chinese Super League operating on a different calendar, Carrasco is currently midway through the season with Dalian Yifang.

He’s scored seven goals and assisted two in nine games for the club this campaign, despite very mixed results leaving the side in the bottom half of the table.

In his last half season in Europe, playing for Atletico Madrid, Carrasco managed four goals and seven assists in 1,459 minutes on the pitch, an average of one goal contribution every 132 minutes.
