William Saliba would rather join Arsenal than Tottenham Hotspur, with both clubs in for his signature this summer, according to reports.

St. Etienne defender Saliba has been linked with a summer transfer to North London this summer, with both Arsenal and Spurs reportedly interested.

The suggestion in France is that Arsenal have already made a €23m bid with €7m in bonuses, but they’ve reached a sticking point as St. Etienne want the full €30m guaranteed and a loan back next season.

This had seemingly opened the door for Tottenham to come in and hijack the deal. However, The Times claim the player himself would prefer a move to Arsenal.

Ignoring the fact that Arsenal are the bigger club, it still makes sense that he’d want to join them over Spurs. Given the defensive issues in Unai Emery’s squad, and the Gunners’ history with giving chances to young players, Saliba could feel more confident about getting opportunities to play with Arsenal.

Raul Sanllehi and his transfer team just need to try and find that agreement with the player’s club now.
