Alaves have agreed a €2.5m fee to sign West Ham United striker and former Gunner Lucas Perez, according to reports.

Sky Sports report that their sources have informed them West Ham have agreed a £2.2m fee with Alaves. Personal terms are not expected to be problematic, so the transfer will go through subject to a medical. The Hammers have included a 30% sell-on clause in the deal.

Perez has struggled to get consistent game time with West Ham, just as he did with Arsenal. The striker made 19 appearances and scored six goals in 2018/19, a goal every 119 minutes, which isn’t a bad record. Unfortunately, it was only enough to earn him six starts all season long.

The stats are pretty similar to what Perez managed with the Gunners, scoring eight goals in 22 appearances, though he did also provided six assists in North London.

Nonetheless, Arsenal ended up making a ~£14m loss on the signing two years later, and now it seems West Ham are about to lose ~£2m themselves. At least the 30-year-old should get another chance to revive his career away from the Premier League.
