Palermo’s 23-year-old forward George Puscas is reportedly ‘dreaming’ of a move to Arsenal.

George Puscas signed for Palermo from Inter Milan last season on loan but the deal came with a four-year contract and an obligation to buy the player for €3.2m.

He’d been signed by Inter Milan in 2013 but made only four appearances for them in a spell that included loans to Bari, Benevento, and Novara.

The situation is further complicated by Palermo’s financial struggles. Not only have they not been granted a Serie B licence for next season, they still haven’t paid Inter what they owe for the player and could default on the outstanding €2.7m.

Should that happen, Inter would be able to sell the player with Steaua Bucharest reportedly interested.

Last season, the right-footed winger scored nine goals, with three assists, in 33 appearances in Serie B and, now, he is apparently dreaming of a move to Arsenal.

While Arsenal need a winger, if Puscas is to move to England it will be to a top Championship/bottom Premier League-level team, although his performances at this summer’s u21 Euros will have done him no harm. He was decisive against England when they lost 4-2 to help earn his side a place in the semi-finals.

Sheffield United have already been linked with the Romanian international who also has eight caps and four goals at senior level. They may or may not have made an offer but one thing is clear – Arsenal are not looking to make Puscas’ dream come true any time soon.
