Joan Jordan has reportedly told his Eibar teammates he wants to move to Sevilla this summer dealing Arsenal a blow if they were actually interested in him.

At the end of March, it was reported that Arsenal were ‘in position’ to move for 24-year-old Eibar midfielder Joan Jordan as an Aaron Ramsey replacement, hoping to take advantage of the player’s €15m release clause.

A few weeks ago, Marca wrote that Unai Emery was set to hit the transfer market to find a replacement for the departing Welshman, and among the best placed to fill the position was Eibar midfielder Jordan.

In short, Emery seems to be interested in Jordan but, sadly, it seems as if the feelings are not mutual.

ABC in Seville reported on Monday morning that the player has already told his team that he wants to move to Sevilla.

They claim that, ‘after a few days reflection on the part of the two clubs, Sevilla and Eibar will return today to resume talks to try to reach an agreement on Joan Jordan.’

Jordan is currently on holiday, ABC write, but is ‘aware of what’s cooking’ and has even told Eibar of his preference.

The player’s contract expires in 2020 and he has a €15m release clause so his club are willing to negotiate his departure to avoid ending up with nothing. 20% of any transfer fee will go to Espanyol, meaning Eibar are unlikely to settle for less than that clause.

Jordan scored four goals with four assists from midfield last season, and the Gunners have seemingly been following his progress closely. The 24-year-old is strong on set pieces and creating chances, as well as dribbling with the ball, plus he has a good long shot on him.
