Arsenal have had a £15m bid for Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney rejected, according to reports in Scotland.

TheScottishSun claim Arsenal submitted a £15m offer for the 22-year-old, but Celtic have made it clear that is nowhere near their valuation of the player. The Scottish Premiership side want a minimum of £25m to let the talented defender go.

Arsenal are expected to come back with an improved offer next week, and they’re reportedly open to including a player in a swap deal if necessary.

Napoli are also interested in Tierney, and they’ve made an enquiry. Though that’s as far as their pursuit of the player has gone so far.

Tierney has a contract until 2023, so Celtic are under no real pressure to sell. The left-back made 40 appearances for his team last season, scoring one goal and assisting six on the way to another domestic treble.

There’s really not much further the defender could go with Celtic, so a move to the Premier League could be tempting. For now, however, there are still no reliable suggestions that Arsenal are close to a deal.
