Brighton & Hove Albion look to have sealed a deal for Genk’s Leandro Trossard who has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal.
Speaking back in May, Trossard’s agent admitted that his client could move to Arsenal or Germany and it was then reported that he’d found an agreement with Borussia Monchengladbach a few weeks later.
Now, however, it is being reported that he’s on his way to Brighton.
Belgian publication Gazet van Antwerpen Metropool Stad writes (via Google Translate), “Genk have reached this weekend, an agreement with Brighton & Hove Albion on Leandro Trossard (24). The Red Devil must be in the English first division to compete with the often-injured Jose Izquierdo (ex-Club Brugge).
“It was a weekend to remember for Leandro Trossard. On Saturday, he went in, tied the knot with his girlfriend, Laura, yesterday, he was on his way to the Premier League.”
Quite tellingly, however, they then write that the clubs have not found an agreement on his price although Brighton’s ‘personal touch’ with the player seems important.
It is expected that a fee of around €20m will be agreed.
The left-winger scored 11 and assisted four in 24 Jupiler Pro games last season with 22 goals and 11 assists in 47 games across all competitions.
