Arsenal are one of a number of clubs who are keeping an eye on Valencia’s 19-year-old winger, Ferran Torres, who comes with a juicy €28m price tag.

With Arsenal having to watch their pennies, €28m on a 19-year-old would seem like a lot of money. But he seems worth it if the interest of Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid and Leicester City are anything to go by.

Arsenal are in desperate need of a wide player but they have been priced out of moves for their top targets due to their failure to qualify for the Champions League.

Ferran Torres is under contract until 2021 and is currently rated at around £10.8m. That reflects accurately the two goals and one assist in 24 league games he returned last season.

But, of course, prices in the market don’t often reflect reality and the Spaniards want €28m for him.

Brendan Rodgers has reportedly identified him as an ideal reinforcement for the young squad he plans on assembling at Leicester.
