Le Phoceen report that Arsenal are looking at Thauvin for the right-wing position next season. Marseille also suffered the disappointment of missing out on Champions League qualification last season, and Thauvin is keen to move to a big club this summer.

The French outlet claim an Arsenal source has informed them that after missing out on the likes of Wilfried Zaha and Ryan Fraser over budget constraints, Thauvin is on their shortlist of alternatives.

Former Marseille man Robert Pires would reportedly help to facilitate a deal.

Unfortunately, Thauvin also looks to be out of Arsenal’s price range at this stage, as he could cost as much as €50m. As a result, the Gunners will probably have to sell a big name before they can make their move.

Thauvin scored 18 goals and assisted nine in 37 appearances from the wing last season. He was one of Marseille’s few bright sparks in a disastrous Europa League campaign, and he ended the season on a high with three goals in three games after a brief ankle injury.

The French international followed that up with a goal and assist in two matches for his country over the most recent break.
