Turkish outlet Fotospor report that Turkey’s 2-0 win over France last week, and Tokoz’s key role in that victory, has caught the attention of a number of top clubs.

AC Milan, Napoli and Arsenal are all expected to have scouts in attendance to watch the midfielder again on Tuesday.

After joining Besiktas last summer, Tokoz found it difficult to break into the team at first. The 23-year-old sat on the bench for 11 straight matches in the league before he finally got onto the pitch, but after that, there was no looking back.

Tokoz only missed three matches for the remainder of the league campaign after his Super Lig debut, all through injury or suspension.

The Turkey international is excellent defensively, with his game focused around strong tackling, blocks, interceptions and very few defensive errors. He does also have a good long shot though, and he scored three goals and assisted four in his 23 club appearances in 2018/19.

The midfielder even filled in at right-back for a couple of games in the Europa League group stage this season, versatility which could appeal to Arsenal given Hector Bellerin’s current absence.

Arsenal would reportedly have to pay around €25m to land Tokoz’s signature this summer.
