Sky Sports News report that Arsenal, AS Monaco and Sevilla are all keen on a summer move for the striker. Chalov was the Russian Premier League’s top scorer, with 15 goals in 30 games, and he was also top-five for assists with a total of seven.

Additionally, Chalov scored against Real Madrid in the Champions League this season, bagging two goals in the competition before CSKA were eliminated in the group stage.

Arsenal’s interest in the striker most likely started during the Gunners’ Europa League clash against CSKA in the 2017/18 season. Chalov scored in the away leg of the clash and played well, after missing out on the first-leg 4-1 defeat.

Unsurprisingly, given his goal and assist totals for the season, Whoscored give key passes and finishing as Chalov’s strengths.

It would be a bit of a shame for Arsenal to sign Chalov as a third-choice striker instead of promoting one of their promising academy forwards. However, this could just be the club preparing for the eventuality where Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Alexandre Lacazette end up leaving and need replacing.
