Arsenal have reportedly identified three players in Argentina as they look to reinforce their midfield.
Arsenal very rarely went near the South American market when Arsene Wenger was at the club but they seem more than willing to do that with Unai Emery in charge of the team and Raul Sanllehi at the helm.
As a result, the club are reportedly interested in River Plate’s Exequiel Palacios and Boca Juniors pair, Nahitan Nández and Emanuel Reynoso.
Exequiel Palacios
Palacios is a 20-year-old central midfielder and full Argentine international. He is under contract until 2021 and is valued at £18m.
Nahitan Nández
Nández is a 23-year-old central midfielder under contract until next season with a current market value of around £11m. One Boca fan described him as ‘an absolute workhorse, a true box-to-box player’ and he has been described as being in the Torreira mould.
Emanuel Reynoso
Reynoso is also 23 but is an attacking midfielder who can also play on the left wing. His current contract is the longest of all three, running until 2022 but he is also the player with the lowest reported market value (£3.8m). That being said, he also seems the most unlikely of the trio to move to London according to Boca fans who believe it would take an exceptional offer to tempt them into selling.
