Alberto Moreno has been linked with a free transfer to Arsenal on and off for the past year or so.

It was claimed that Unai Emery wanted him to replace Nacho Monreal who, despite getting a one-year extension to his current Arsenal contract, could be shipped out anyway.

Thankfully, a source close to Fenerbahce, another club linked with Moreno, believes the player is set on returning to Spain.

He is, reportedly, close to a club that will play in the Champions League. o that’s definitely not us, then.

For those ready to point out that 26-year-old Alberto Moreno is already a Champions League winner it’s worth noting that he played a grand total of eight minutes in the entire competition.

He wasn’t even included in the squad for 58% of their matches in their run to the final.

In total, he played 344 minutes for Liverpool in all competitions last season.
