17-year-old Greenwood and 16-year-old pair Azeez and Yunus Musah are all part of the England squad for the tournament this month, and the former two started in the first match on Saturday.

Greenwood opened the scoring with a confident penalty in the first half, but England really struggled to get a foothold in the game after that, with France coming back to equalise and pushing for what would’ve been a deserved winner late on.

Nonetheless, the two Arsenal boys did well, and playing against France is never an easy game. A draw is a solid result, England just need to follow it up with a couple of wins to round out the group stage. They face the Netherlands on Monday and Sweden on Thursday in Group B, realistically needing three points from both games to progress.
